CSC Leon County Hosts 3rd Annual Youth and Family Services Expo (Contributed by WTXL) The Children’s Services Council of Leon County is making a major investment in the region’s youth, allocating over two-and-a-half million dollars to fund 13 after-school and summer programs set to serve more than 800 children in the community. The 2026 Youth & Family Services Expo Was a Success! Families showed up in a big way for the Third Annual Family and Youth Services Expo, with nearly 200 families representing more than 400 children and youth exploring summer opportunities across our community. While some programs have already reached capacity, many still have spots available to keep rising kindergarteners through 8th graders engaged, supported, and learning all summer long. Girls on the Run: 5K Celebration Girls on the Run is hosting their 5k run on April 25, 2026, starting at 8:30 a.m. Community members are encouraged to take part and cheer on the participating girls as they cross the finish line. If you would like to run or volunteer be sure to register. Learn more

Individual Counseling at the Oasis Center for Women & Girls With the Oasis Center's FREE Individual Counseling sessions, women raising children, soon-to-be moms, and female guardians can speak with a licensed therapist in a safe space. Join Lauren’s Kids for the final miles of the statewide Walk in My Shoes journey on Friday, May 1, 2026, in downtown Tallahassee. Walk the final three miles starting at Kleman Plaza, then stay for a family-friendly safety fair and block party on South Adams Street with free food, music, and activities for all ages. Free Developmental Screenings for Young Children - May 1 Families are invited to a free developmental screening event for children ages 6 months to 5 years on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend in Tallahassee. Screenings cover vision and hearing, health and nutrition, motor skills, cognitive development, and speech and language, helping families better understand their child’s development and connect to resources. Child and Infant CPR The Capital Area Healthy Start Coalition is offering FREE child and infant CPR classes. During these classes participants will learn how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and the steps to take to successfully give a child CPR. Classes are free but registration is required. Register Here
